What Information Do I Need to Provide to Get Started?

There is no hard and fast rules on how land surveys are carried out, every land surveyor has their own best practice standards that they adhere to. Evidence plays an important role in determining land boundaries. At the same time, the land surveyor you choose must be experienced to follow the evidence trail, no matter how much information is provided.

Gathering Evidence

Before our surveyors will step foot on your site for survey, we need to gather as much documentation as possible. This can include:

  • Title deeds
  • Contracts
  • Wills
  • Maps
  • Previous surveys
  • Floor plans
  • and any other documentation you think is important

The majority of the information we collect can be found at local authorities. It's not uncommon for information to be conflicting, and this is where our skills come in, as we need to determine what is accurate and what is not. It is our responsibility to make our way through the information you provide, ensuring we provide you with accurate measurements and drawings.

On-Site

With the documentation you have provided, we will make an appointment to visit the site, this can be for a boundary survey to a measured building survey. On-site we are able to collect physical evidence, including fencing and landmarks.

During our on-site survey, depending on the survey you have selected, our surveyor will use advanced technology, such as 3D scanners, to provide you with accurate measurements and drawings.

In the event you want a boundary survey, even when the property lines have changed, it is our responsibility to mark the points of the property with new markers. The benefit to this, is that you can use the information provided by our survey team in the event you are having any boundary disputes with your neighbours.

Whether you have recently purchased a new home or you want to renovate your existing property, you need to choose the right surveyor. It is important when making your selection you choose a professional land surveyor that has years of experience.

Once on-site, we use a variety of technologies to take accurate measurements, identify boundary lines, or take accurate measurements of your floor plans, elevations, and sections.

Returning to the office, we use specialist software to analyse the data we collected, enabling us to provide you with 2D drawings and 3D models, based on your requirements.
