What training and qualifications do your surveyors have?

Our surveyors specialist in geomatics, which involves collecting, analysing, and interpreting data of the surface of the earth. Often we are referred to as geomatic surveyors. Our day to day responsibilities vary, often including analysing geographical information systems, and interpreting the data, using CAD and building information modelling (BIM) software, along with producing detailed plans.
As surveyors, we use a host of equipment, from GPS mapping to 3D laser scanners. We measure land, recording floor measurements, elevations, and cross sections. We collect data on man made and natural features, using digital mapping technologies.

We have spent the majority of our careers working for one of the oldest surveying companies in Essex, where we learned both traditional measuring techniques, along with how to use state of the art equipment, ensuring the highest level of precision and accuracy at all times.
Yes many industries do require that you hold a degree of some sort, but in the surveying industry, we have found that apprenticeships is the best way to train and qualify, enabling our surveyors to complete your survey to the highest standards.
Apprenticeships are a great way to train our teams. It involves them attending college and learning the theoretical principles of surveying, while working with us and learning the practical side of surveying, enabling them to apply their knowledge effectively.
We do have surveyors who have degrees or postgraduate qualifications from the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, including civil engineers, geographical information sciences, surveying, and geomatics.
All our chartered land surveyors have completed training with the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) or Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
