Documentation

We will require some important documentation before we start the survey. The survey all starts in our offices and with your help, we get the basic leg-work out of the way. We will require confidential information from you, but don't worry, we take every precaution to preserve confidentiality, ensuring your documents do not get in the wrong hands.

• We will need more than an address, we may ask for Title Deeds, and other important documents to start the surveying process.

Limit the Number of People in the Home

Conducting a survey, we will require access to both the interior and exterior of your home. To streamline the process and avoid any disruptions, we recommend limiting how many people are in the home when conducting the survey. Try and keep it to one or two, so we can be as efficient as possible. One person will be needed to answer any questions we have and take us through the property.

Reduce Clutter

We are not here to judge you if you have a messy home, but decluttering can help us complete the survey quickly. When taking interior measurements, we need a decluttered space, ensuring our state of the art equipment takes accurate measurements. We use 3D laser scanning technology that sends a pulse, when it makes contact with an object, it bounces back the information on distance measured. This is all well, unless we have to move heavy furniture out of the way to allow us to take measurements wall to wall, rather than wall to furniture.

If your home has outdoor clutter that makes it hard to access the property, it's helpful to clear a path for us to get in, so we can conduct the on-site inspection part of our survey service.

Take the time to have a quick look at the external walls and roof of your home. Identify if we will be able to gain easy access to take external measurements for external elevation drawings.

If You Have an Attic, Make it Accessible

Yes, a measured building survey takes all floors, along with inside and outside the property into consideration. We will need access to your attic to take accurate measurements and provide accurate internal elevation drawings.
